PreSonus® Sceptre® S8 Studio Monitor

The Sceptre® S8 two-way monitor combines an 8-inch low/mid-frequency driver and a 1-inch (25 mm), horn-loaded, high-frequency transducer into a single coaxial unit with aligned voice coils. Its advanced coaxial design, based on Fulcrum Acoustic's TQ™ Temporal Equalization, works integrally with a 32-bit, 96 kHz, dual-core processor to deliver clarity and coherence that has previously only been available in ultra-high-end systems. Add 180 watt, Class D biamplification; acoustic ports; a rich set of acoustic adjustments; and full speaker protection; and you have a new, affordable monitoring standard.

Features
  • CoActual technology combines DSP time-correction and point-source design for symmetrical soundstage and micro-definition imaging
  • Unique coaxial transducer integrates 8-inch midrange driver and 1-inch (25 mm) horn-loaded HF transducer with Coaxial Speaker Coherence Alignment
  • 32-bit, 96 kHz, dual-core, active floating-point DSP provides critical Temporal Equalization™ with multiple FIR filters
  • Acoustic-tuning controls: HF Driver Adjust (0 dB, +1 dB, -1.5 dB, -4 dB), Acoustic Space (0 dB, -1.5 dB, -3 dB, -6 dB), highpass filter (Off, 60 Hz, 80 Hz, and 100 Hz, -12 dB/octave slope), Sensitivity (+4 dBu to -10 dBV)
  • 180W RMS, Class D biamplification with internal heat sink
  • RF shielding, current-output limiting, and over-temperature protection
  • Includes Studio Magic, a suite of over $1000 USD worth of music production software

Highlights & specs
CoActual Speaker Design

CoActual speakers employ a HF driver placed in the middle of the LF driver for symmetrical response horizontally and vertically, increasing the sweet spot, clarity and imaging. An onboard DSP running Fulcrum Acoustics’ TQ™ algorithms provides detailed adjustments for an even mid-range with an inaudible crossover transition.

CoActual Speaker Design
Accurate transient reproduction.

Consonant sounds in speech, percussion, and attack and decay of musical instruments are all transient signals. When reproduced accurately, the result is sonic transparency, definition, and intelligibility. With their excellent transient reproduction, CoActual speakers minimize distortion and produce clean, clear, consistent audio at any SPL.

Accurate transient reproduction.
