PreSonus Gala Kicks Off the NAMM Show in Style
February 4, 2013
Everyone knows PreSonus loves to throw a party, and at this year’s NAMM show, we had a lot to celebrate. So the evening before the show opened, we threw a gala event for several hundred of our friends, complete with great food and drink, lighting effects, videos that showed off our latest technology, and amazing live performances.
PreSonus VP of Sales and media star Rick Naqvi opened the evening by literally lifting the curtain off of the new PreSonus StudioLive™ AI loudspeakers, as the lights came up to reveal a surprise performance by blues great Keb’ Mo’. That was just the beginning.
After a short acoustic set by Keb’ Mo’ to warm up the crowd, CEO Jim Mack took the stage to deliver the big news – a total of ten new products – assisted by Naqvi, CTO Bob Tudor, Nimbit® founder Phil Antoniades, and Fulcrum Acoustic speaker-design genius Dave Gunness.
In addition to Keb’ Mo’s set, guests were treated to a variety of recorded musical examples that showed off the new StudioLive 328AI PA speakers and StudioLive 18sAI subwoofers. Just one pair of coaxial StudioLive 328AIs and four subwoofers easily covered the entire 54x130x18-foot ballroom, delivering impressive clarity and imaging.
With crowd suitably fed, wined, and wowed, L’Angelus, the pride of Lafayette, Louisiana, took the stage for a rollicking set, bringing Keb’ Mo’ back to sit in.
This was the party everyone was talking about for the rest of the show – in fact, last we checked, they were still talking about it. To all who attended, thanks for coming. To those of you who missed it, we hope to see you in Baton Rouge for PreSonuSphere 2013!
