PreSonus Blog

We’ve always tried to give Studio One users a lot to choose from when it comes to packs and loops and sounds and such. Studio One ships with tons of demos, instruments, drums, MusicLoops, and Impulse Responses. Recently, with version 2.6.2 of Studio One, we’ve added support for even more add-ons, and the first two off the line are Goldbaby Essentials and the Metal Pack for Ampire XT. Normally these packages are $29.99 each, but until August 30, 2014, we’re throwing them in for FREE when you get Studio One Professional, including upgrades and crossgrades!

Goldbaby Essentials for Impact features a whopping 500 samples from beatboxes of yore, arranged into 32 Impact drum kit presets and 124 new MusicLoops. These samples have been meticulously, professionally sampled by a real pro, and processed with warm, saturated, real-analog-tape-saturated goodness. Add to that the money, space, and time you’re saving when compared to buying all those drum machines and sampling them yourself—and you can’t deny that Goldbaby Essentials is even better than the real thing(s).

The Ampire XT Metal Pack features six new bröötal amp models for Ampire, as well as six new cabinet emulations. Furthermore, we’ve recognized that metal drums (and metal drummers) have rightfully begun to infringe on the guitar’s monopolization of the metal spotlight. As such, we’ve included a brand-new metal drum kit for Impact, rife with clicky kick drums, anvil snares, and… well, metallic cymbals. All told, this package is heavier than depleted uranium, and probably about as dangerous.

What can I say about the AudioBox USB that hasn’t already been said? It’s the little interface that could—and has. I wish we had a way of logging just how many singer/songwriter records have been churned out on these li’l devils But I do know that since its introduction in 2008, we have sold over 100,000 AudioBox USBs to date.

And for good reason. These are great-sounding, hard-working interfaces that get the job done without taking up a lot of space. They need a good home—so how about yours? After all those years of hard work, it’s time to give the little guy a break, so we’re dropping the price down to $99 USD from the existing price of $149.99.

This offer is available world-wide, so get your paws on an AudioBox USB! If you’re in the US, click here to find a dealer. Folks outside the US can find a dealer by clicking here.

I bet you know one of those bassists who flat-out refuses to play out of anything other than an 8×10 refrigerator of a bass cab from 1980. We all know that guy. Think about how trashed the tolex is on that thing. Sure, the cabinet sounds great and all, but after 34 years of getting tossed in and out of vans, it looks more or less like the product of an over-ambitious underachiever who got a C- in high school wood shop. Props to the guy for sticking to his guns, but you’re a little past that now, for the same reason you no longer wear jeans with holes in ‘em, right? Besides, think of the loss in re-sale value.

Enter the StudioLive Dust Cover AI. Until September 30, 2014, these handsome devils are free with purchase of any pair of StudioLive AI Loudspeakers, so you can protect your investment without investing in your investment protector. Keep your StudioLive dry and dust-free while locking in that new-speaker scent for as long as possible. Purchased separately, these covers range in price from $119.95 to $139.95.  Click to get the Free Speaker Cover Rebate Form.

Note that we’ve got the dev team hard at work at offering remote zipper control of StudioLive Dust Cover AI via VSL Remote. This feature is planned for a 2015 release via a Dust Cover Firmware Update*.

This offer is available world-wide. If you’re in the US, click here to find a dealer. Folks outside the US can find a dealer by clicking here.

It’s the fifth day of the fifth month, so what better time to offer five of our software products for $5 each? While that’s cool and all, I’m starting to suspect that some compadre on the marketing team must have had a fifth of their own, because this offer is completely loco.

Here’s what we’re offering:

Click on any of the links above to get linked to our shiny new marketplace, and start filling up your cart on the cheap. And hey, if you buy one of everything, you will be well-suited to finally get started on that symphonic metal hip-hop record you’ve been meaning to get around to. Oh, and HURRY. You have around 24 hours to take advantage of this offer before it disappears—faster than guacamole at a tailgate party.

We’re cooking up something special for Cinco de Mayo—what do you suppose it is?

You’ll have to wait until Monday to know for sure, but you are welcome and encouraged to speculate until then.

Stay tuned…

The new Eris studio monitors are showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, they were recently recognized with AudioFanZine’s “Best Value” award, and here’s just a sampling of the praise that they’ve earned so far from others:

  • PreSonus has a reputation of making great products “for the rest of us,” and the Eris speakers follow that philosophy.” - Jon Chappell, Harmony Central
  • “Setting them up in my humble (yet effective) home studio for a few months helped me hear things I wasn’t hearing previously and helped me to provide better mixes for my clients.” - Eli Crews, Tape Op
  • “The PreSonus Eris E5 and E8 are quality made, well equipped and good-natured active speakers for near field… Five Stars” Felix Klostermann, Bonedo.De

It just so happens that in April 2014, we’re cutting the price back a bit on these guys. The Eris E5s are available for $50 off per pair, down to $250, (USD) and the E8s are available for $100 off per pair, down to $400!

You are NOT going to find better sonic bang for your buck no matter where you look. Furthermore, there’s no rebate forms to mess with and no waiting times, just quick ‘n’ easy $avings.

This offer is available in the US and select markets outside the US. Click here to find a US dealer or check with your local distributor for availability in your region.

If you’ve had your eyes (and ears) on the StudioLive AI digital mixers, now’s a great time to buy, as you’ll get the PRM1 measurement microphone along with it—a $100 value! Saving money is great and all—but what’s so special about the PRM1?

Glad you asked.

The PRM1 is a special type of condenser microphone that provides an accurate reproduction of a room’s sound characteristics. As such, it is ideal for use with audio-analysis tools such as the Smaart real-time analyzers (RTAs) and spectrographs, included with the mixer’s Virtual StudioLive-AI software. This allows you to shoot the room for troublesome acoustic headaches that are specific to the venue, dial in the right EQ to compensate, and get a head-start on your high-quality mix. You can then save the scene to VSL-AI, so the next time you visit the venue, you don’t have to start from square one all over again.

The PRM1 more than pays for itself in saved time—but that’s really not an issue here, since it’s free and all. Click here to get the required form. Don’t forget to save your receipt!
