This is one of our most popular questions we get in tech support. I explain how to assign and route fx on the StudioLive 16.4.2.

  1. When I first saw this title Routing FX using the StudioLive | PreSonus Blog on google I just whent and bookmark it. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!

Your favorite reason appeared to be at the internet the easiest factor to be mindful of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while other people consider issues that they plainly do not understand about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and outlined out the whole thing without having side-effects , folks could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thanks

  4. I too no longer have page 4 of FX showing up on my mixer. I’m running the latest firmware. Was there a problem with this release that removed that functionality???

    HELP!

  6. Ok here’s one!
I have read in the manual all that is being also described in this video.
What I want is to have my FX returns also in my AUXs.
The problem is there is no FX routing settings in page 4 of the FX menu (as in the video) instead there somthing else. And I don’t seem to find it anywhere else in any menu. Could this be a firmware version issue or….???
    I would love some help!
    Thank you in advance!!!

  7. Unless I am missing something, Ideally I would like my monitors to not be effected by my FOH controls and with the effects set in post as you show, the singer is going to hear the effects increase and decrease in his mix depending on movement of his main fader. Ideally I want the effect send to Aux to be pre and the effects sent to the subs to be post. Thoughts? Keith

  8. Can effects be routed through the aux? I am using the aux sends for headphone mixes in the studio and I would like to add a little reverb. Any ideas?

I considered a hardwired solution. Assign to an aux and burn a channel. Is there a routing solution?

  9. Got this response from tech Support (very quick response, great tech support!!!!)
Each sub is mono until you link them to another sub. you can recall a stereo internal effect and return that effect to a pair of subs. when doing this I would link subs 1-2, or 3-4 then set up the effect you want and send that effect to the sub, or main out.

  10. Looked at the block diagram and it looks like the mute on the FX sends are before the processor, but the pots are after, and the processor returns to the 2 mix in stereo, and the gain pot is the actual output control of the processor. That being said, it doesn't look like the subgroups are pannable and usueable as stereo subgroups. Is that true??

  11. Branson is it likely that we'll get to be able to monitor the Input A&B Returns; If we wanted to use our external FX units for Example?

  12. Just a simple idea…. In the Page 4:Aux Assign, it would be nice for me to be able to choose a return volume level (a number from 0 to 9) instead of the current down arrow (or maybe being able to choose both).
