Position Overview
The embedded firmware engineer reports to the Director of Software, and possesses the ability to maintain, design and develop quality embedded audio solutions, utilizing embedded Linux and creating bare metal implementations. The embedded firmware engineer works in conjunction with members of the hardware team and software application developers to ensure timely delivery of firmware for hardware verification and end application development.
The embedded firmware engineer is focused on firmware that drives the hardware, has in depth knowledge of real-time DSP / signal processing, along with excellent problem solving skills. The embedded firmware engineer possesses a firm understanding of C, C++, object oriented programming, product development best practices, and test driven product development concepts. This person conducts and participates in software design reviews to ensure technical quality based on requirements.
The embedded firmware engineer works with QA, customer support, and engineering services to create solutions for problems reported. This engineer possesses a passion for improving product development and testing through automation.

Responsibilities
- Establishes center of excellence for PreSonus embedded software technology, maximizing features and performance within the price and manufacturing constraints of the product specification.
- Work with the engineering team to refine requirements of the software development effort for new products in the pipeline. (Review SRDs, create SDDs, conducts EFDs etc..)
- Design, architect, and develop embedded firmware solutions following best practices.
- Utilize revisions control, and project tracking tools to accurately show progress in development efforts
- Ability to define tasks based on software design / requirements, and deliver solutions within program schedule guidelines
- Identify bottlenecks in existing development processes and drive solutions.
- Demonstrate ability to improve product quality through test automation.
- Regular communication with program management and director of software on project status, risks, and change control.
- Ensure that factories / proto phase fabrication is never delayed by software deliverables.
- Work within a Phase-Gate Product Development Process framework
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Audio Firmware Development experience.
- Expert knowledge of C / C++ and object oriented design.
- Deep understanding of Real time ARM, and DSP / Signal Processing.
- Embedded Linux and RTOS experience is a must.
- Ability to design, architect and develop end audio solutions based on product specification.
- Ability to contribute to and create automated testing frameworks.
- Experience in writing clear, concise requirements, specifications, software design documents, and verification test plans.

The EVP R&D reports directly to the CEO, and is responsible for all aspects of the company’s engineering and product development activities. The EVP R&D will provide leadership and direction to a team of world class engineers by establishing effective processes, procedures and operations for the worldwide product development and research functions as a cohesive unit. Reporting to the EVP R&D are the directors of hardware and software development, project management, and manufacturing. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a key member of the executive management team that sets the company’s strategic direction.
- Collaborate with the CTO to establish a long term vision for technology platform development and resource requirements to meet the company’s strategic product development objectives.
- Work closely with the EVP Product Management and the entire Executive team on mid and long term product roadmaps to ensure best use of engineering resources and to achieve all company revenue objectives.

Global Service Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
PreSonus Audio Electronics, Inc., is a leading designer and manufacturer of audio-recording software, hardware, and related accessories. PreSonus' software, microphone preamps, signal processors, digital audio interfaces, mixers, control surfaces, and other products are used worldwide for recording, sound reinforcement, broadcast, sound design, and Internet audio. The Global Service Manager will work full time in the Operations Department. This individual will manage 15+ individuals on a local service team as well as coordinate service parts and repairs for international distributors and international 3rd-party repair facilities. This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage internal service technicians along with the relationship with international distributors, domestic dealers, and international 3rd-party repair facilities
- Maintain detailed service records and provide feedback to management and engineering on warranty failure rates for all products
- Liaison with Engineering for service documentation, manuals, parts lists, service bulletins, and engineering change orders
- Manage global service inventory levels and forecasting requirements for factory purchases as well as distributor parts ordering for the entire product lifecycle including EOL planning
- Assist Director of Customer Care with strategic initiatives to continual improve the service experience for the end user, dealer and distributor
QUALIFICATIONS
- BSEE/BSME or equal with an emphasis on mechanical, electrical, engineering services, or 10+ years experience in an engineering environment

Mechanical Engineer
Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical leadership for a cross-functional team to design and develop new products for PreSonus Pro-Audio Division. The Mechanical engineer is expected to develop mechanical components and technology strategies for new products while also identifying opportunities to improve existing products. Successful candidate will collaborate with marketing, industrial design, engineering and manufacturing to assist the team in supporting the product development process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Quality
- Actively pursues continuous improvement and ease of doing business to meet or exceed customer needs.
- Develops procedures and processes that lead to reliable designs.
- Understands and uses the philosophy and tools of total quality commitment, cost down manufacturing, and design for manufacturability and serves as an engineering resource in teaching the use of these tools to others within the department.
- Provides engineering support during the prototyping phases of product development. This activity includes parts procurement, PCB and chassis assembly, and First Article Inspection verification. This process extends to the inspection and verification of pre-production models assembled by PreSonus CM’s.
- Assists and supports the “Sustaining Engineering” efforts for legacy products throughout their life cycle. This activity ranges from simple design changes to complete redesign along with modifying the necessary and accompanying documentation.
New Product Development
- Researches and develops core technologies required by PreSonus to sustain or improve its competitive lead.
- Designs, develops, analyzes and documents product designs which meet the functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability and safety requirements of PreSonus.
- Acquires and applies skills necessary to design, develop and introduce new products that meet or exceed all departmental and corporation cost and schedule constraints.

RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

- A strong background in electronics is required, ideally in a consumer technology product related industry such as consumer electronics or professional audio
- Experienced in whole product development process of electronics or PC products from concept to mass production.
- Specific experience in audio products is considered a “plus”.
- Experience in Phase Gate Product Development processes is required.
- Experience in program management with overseas manufacturing, strong handling skills in manufacturing, quality control issues, testing and qualification requirements, material and logistics

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description

The Web Content Coordinator does exactly that: Coordinates (and sometimes originates) content for www.presonus.com by working with all contributors including in-house writers and art directors, Social Media Manager and outside PR and Artist Relations firms. The Coordinator is in charge of making sure that all content on the site is correct and that new content is posted in a timely manner. The WCC will also constantly monitor the site for problems. Initially, the WCC will serve as Project Manager for the transfer of all current content from the old site to the upcoming new site.

Summary

The Web Developer will work closely with IT and other departments to create, maintain and enhance web sites/CMS along with other custom web applications and projects. This includes translating complex business needs into technical requirements and implementing solutions. While the primary role of a Web Developer will be to create, maintain, and support back-end web applications, the flexibility to code cross-browser and standards based front-end work will be required.
